Modules add to the sites functionality making it better suited to your needs. We use the latest version of the Drupal based Content Management System that has hundreds of modules that perform all sorts of tasks. Check out Drupal's module list (look for ones compatible with Drupal version 5) and if you find one that might be suited to your needs let us know and we can install it. Chances are it would be useful to other users too. The following modules come preinstalled with your Scratchpad are given below:
-
Bibliography Module: This module allows users manage and display lists of publications. More info...
- Calendar: This module will display any "views" date field in calendar formats. Switch between year, month, week, and day views. Back and next navigation is provided for all views. More info...
- Captcha: This module prevent automated software from performing actions which degrade the quality of service of a given system. More info...
- TinyMCE: This module allows Drupal to replace text area fields with the TinyMCE. This HTML text editor brings many of the powerful WYSIWYG editing functions of known desktop editors like Word to the web. It's relatively lightweight and doesn't require any kind of installation on the client computer. TinyMCE is compatible with most internet browsers which include: IE 5.5+ (Windows), Firefox 1.0+, Mozilla 1.3+ and Netscape 7+, though unfortunately it is not yet compatible with Safari. They are working on this but for Mac users we suggest you use Firefox or Camino to take advantage of TinyMCE features. More info...
- Fileshare: This module is used to create pages that allow browsing, uploading, downloading and deleting of files from a fileshare directory that is created by Drupal and linked to the node. Files can be placed in either the private or public areas of your Scratchpad. More info...
- Import HTML: Facility to import an existing, static HTML site structure into the Drupal CMS as structured nodes. Allows an admin to define a source directory of an existing traditional static HTML website, and import (as much as possible) the content and structure into a drupal site.Source files will be stripped of existing chrome and navigation elements before being inserted as nodes. More info...
- Legal: A module which displays the "Maintainers" Terms & Conditions to users who want to register, and requires that they accept the T&C before their registration is accepted. More info...
- Mailman: This module takes care of creating and deleting mailman mailing lists. More info...
- Node Clone: This module allows users to make a copy of an existing item of site content (a node) and then edit that copy. The authorship is set to the current user, the menu and url aliases are reset, and the words "Clone of" are inserted into the title to remind you that you are not editing the original content. This is useful for creating a document template (such as a page of information about a particular species) and then modify that template with new information for another taxon. Thanks to Vladimir Blagoderov for suggesting this. More info...
- Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting: This works in conjunction with the bibliography module to provides an interface for others to harvest XML-formatted metadata from your bibliographic database. More info...
- Webform: This module adds a webform nodetype to a Drupal site. Typical uses for webform are to create questionnaires, contact or request/register forms, surveys, polls or a front end to issues tracking systems. More info...
